There are three types of transfer:
Blind Transfer:
- Transfer a call directly to another party without consulting.
- Caller ID from caller passes to the person the call is being sent to.
- Press the “TRAN” key, then dial the extension number or 10 digit outside number of the party you’re transferring the call to, then press the ‘TRAN” key again.
- Make sure to do this quickly. If you take too long after dialing the number to transfer to it will automatically become an Attended Transfer.
- If the party you’re transferring the call to does not answer, the call will go into their voicemail.
- Transfer directly to someone’s voicemail by pressing * + the extension number when transferring. (e.g *1000)
Attended Transfer:
- Transfer a call with proper consulting.
- Caller ID of the caller does not transfer to the person the call is being sent to. Instead they see the Caller ID of the person transferring the call.
- Press the “TRAN” key, then dial the extension number of the party you’re transferring the call to, then press the SEND (#) key. When the party picks up talk to them about the call being transferred. If they accept the call press the “TRAN” key. If they do not accept the call you can cancel the transfer by pressing the “MENU” button under the screen.
Semi-Attended Transfer:
- Transfer a call when the target phone is ringing.
- Caller ID of the caller does not transfer to the person the call is being sent to. Instead they see the Caller ID of the person transferring the call.
- Press the “TRAN” key, then dial the extension number of the party you’re transferring the call to, and then press the #(SEND) key. When you hear the phone ringing press the “TRAN” key.
